ABOUT THIS AIRCRAFT
Similar to the B707 in performance and capacity, the DC-8 54/55 is cheaper to operate than others in its class, including the A300. It has four turbofan engines and is suited to medium- to long-haul flights. It was the first jet powered airliner manufactured by McDonnell Douglas.
